So you’ve decided you wanna play NTSC games on your PAL SNES and have tweaked the internals to allow 60Hz output and the removal of the region lockout, and now you need to work out the problem of the US cartridges physically not fitting in the PAL cartridge slot…
I see far too many PAL Super Nintendos being butchered just so American game cartridges can fit in the slot… You know who you are, and you’re bad people.
Just look at this utter bastard of a job:
You have two decent options, firstly you could transplant the game board into a PAL cartridge, but then the label is all wrong blah blah blah… Then the second (read: correct) option is to find a decent pass-through adapter:
See, looks alright ay?
Have a look around but I can’t really imagine you’d find a much better adapter that the one I found, you can buy them new from an eBay seller in China (see below) and I reckon its well worth spending a few quid on such a gadget to do things properly.
(Its definitely some sort of US SNES to Super Famicom pass-through adapter you’re looking for rather than any sort of “Universal Adapter” or similar – nasty looking things!)
Here is where I got this one from: eBay Link
Anyway there we have it, so STOP SLICING UP THESE TIMELESS PIECES OF AWESOMENESS WITH A KITCHEN KNIFE.
Much love. Over and out.
